At On A String, we love to help customers put together a fabulous piece. We have customers that make their own jewelry and just pick out their beads and take them home. We have customer who create here in the store with us. We also have customers who tell us what they want and we contact them when it is finished. However involved you would like to be in the beading process is what we are here for! Have an idea? Just ask!

Open Basics 101
Class times Tuesday 4:30-5:30pm, Saturday 10:00-11:00am.

Our Open Basics Class covers all of the necessary techniques to make beautiful beaded jewelry. If you would like to brush up on your skills or you have never beaded before, we can help! Through crimping and wire-wrapping, you will learn the core basics of jewelry making, and you will leave with all the knowledge and power to make beautiful bracelets, necklaces and earrings. We guarantee it!!!

Silk Knotting

Ready to take it to the next level? Silk Knotting is a sophisticated and versatile option. Using a handy knotting tool, you will explore this elegant technique that is strong and functional. We carry over 60 styles of Griffin silk cord to accent your every piece.

Peyote stitch is a great way to get your feet wet in the world of seed beads! This intricate weaving technique is surprisingly easy. With over 850 varieties of seed beads we are sure we will have something for you! 

Kumihimo

This Japanese word translates to “a coming together of threads”. An exciting, intricate technique that involveds braiding colorful threads and incorporating beads to create a design that is uniquely yours.

Flower Making
Beacause this is a more complex skill, and we want to provide you with outstanding complimentary service, please call or email to make a reservation.

We suppose you could say this is our signature style! Using a variety of top-drilled beads, Swarovski crystal and Czech glass you will learn to create dimensional, dynamic blossoms to adorn your one-of-a-kind necklaces.

Do you have an old necklace that broke? Are you grandmother’s crystal beads looking worn? Did buying that necklace seem like a good idea after a couple glasses of wine? We restring and rework beads for customers, the cost for this service is:

Necklace: $8.00 a strand (additional charges may apply for longer or more complicated pieces or added components)

Bracelet: $6.00 a strand (additional charges may apply for longer or more complicated pieces or added components)

Earrings: Depends on the components being assembled or replaced.

Girls Nights Out
We are happy to host “Girls Nights Out”. You bring your friends, appetizers and beverages, we will help you put together your masterpieces! We have all of the wine glasses, cocktail plates and napkins here. $12.50/per person plus cost of beads (includes stringing materials. We’ll get everyone started and tie everything off) Call or email today to book your party!
